Heirloomed Weekly : A Joyful Home

A weekly round up of some of my favorite things, happenings, trends + more, from heirloomed founder + lifestyle designer, Ashley Schoenith.

Well, we are getting used to the new routine around here and embracing our home and family time even more. It’s so ironic to me that our “word” for the year in 2020 here at work was HOME. When I set this strategy three years ago, it was a natural progression of product design + launch roadmaps + content ideas that led me in this direction. I could have never imagined how relevant, true and completely different the concept of HOME would be to me, and to all of us, by this time this year.

And this week, we’re celebrating the concept of the Joyful Home with the launch of our new $25 Joyful Home boxes. These little boxes are meant to spread joy + cheer up your home space – the perfect gift for friends, neighbors + family.

FOOD

Just in time for Spring (and because I know you’re at home baking away!) we put together a beautiful little Frosting + Cakes Cookbook for you guys to enjoy. It is filled with five classic frosting + icing recipes that you just must learn to master, and we’ve paired each of them with a recipe for a cake or two so you can get to baking, mixing and matching.

Also – because 2020 has been such a whirlwind already, I thought you might have missed some of these wonderful cookbooks that have come out in the last few months or so. You can click each book below to see more / shop each of them, or click here to see my full list of favorite cookbooks you should have in your kitchen.

FAMILY

I started to plan ahead and then realized Easter is just around the corner, so I decided to share a few favorite finds online for the Easter baskets this year, better get on ordering them.

Here is my full roundup of OLD SCHOOL Easter Basket ideas, like the kind of stuff your basket was filled with when you were a kid. If you love the nostalgia of holidays like I do, then this one will give you all the warm + fuzzy feelings.

And, we have a great assortment of Easter basket goodies for everyone in our Spring Gift Guide too. From inspirational, faith-based candles to our Simple Blessings collection and matching aprons.

HOME

In the spirit of making your space a “joyful home” there is no time better than now to look around your space and do a little refreshing. One of my favorite ways to bring true joy into my own home is to fill it with family photos. Little moments frozen in time forever, sitting there for you to remember fondly.

Whether it’s an old, black-and-white family photo generations old or one that’s more recent from when your babies were actually babies, I’m sharing a few tips for you to take some of this time to take these memories from digital files on your camera or phone and bring them into reality. Into a frame, onto a wall or curated in a collection. Like how to make a gallery wall of old family photos, or creating an oversized childhood photo gallery wall or this little video we put together on a special photo book I assembled to chronicle family recipes and the people behind them.

VINTAGE

If you don’t have any cherished black and white photos of your own, perhaps I can interest you in these over in our Vintage Goods shop.

I have loved seeing this trend evolve, of folks displaying vintage panoramic group photos, black and white portraits, charcoal sketching and other found curated objects in groupings on their gallery walls. I pulled a few of my favorites from over on Pinterest that I thought you might like to see as a little inspiration for how to display ones in your own home.

STYLE

In honor of true Easter tradition, especially here in the South, this week we’re celebrating a timeless fabric that we’ve all come to know and love – seersucker. While this can be a preppier piece, I love layering it in bits and pieces and love that we can mix and match the whole family in a touch of it.
