One of the most special traditions we had growing up was a signature Shirley Temple for holiday dinners. A simple mix of Sprite + grenadine topped off with a maraschino cherry and we had the fanciest drink in town, just like the adults.
Now that I'm on the adult side of things, I'm sharing a simple recipe for a Grown Up Shirley Temple. Just grab your favorite champagne or prosecco, some sweet dark cherries and get to mixing.
Grown Up Shirley Temple
- 1 chilled bottle of champagne or prosecco
- 1 cup of sweet cherry juice
- garnish with 2-3 sweet dark cherries
How to cook Grown Up Shirley Temple
- Pour prosecco or champagne into flutes, filling 2/3 the way full. Top with sweet cherry juice. Skewer 2-3 sweet dark cherries and use as garnish. Enjoy!
