U-Pick Strawberry Season

A wonderful spring family activity to do this year is go to a u-pick strawberry patch. Pick beautiful, fresh strawberries that you can take home to make delicious recipes with.

U-Pick Strawberry Season

This time of year is just so perfect. Pollen aside, there isn’t much I don’t just love about late spring / early summer. One of our family-favorite activities is strawberry picking, loading up basket-fulls of fresh, plump berries to bring home and enjoy.

The weather and our sports schedule hasn’t cooperated just yet for us to head out to the local u-pick fields, and quite honestly the peak season here in Atlanta-area really kicks off early May so we have plenty of time still.

I thought I’d share these sweet photos from one of the last times we went when the kids were oh-so-young (tear). This was during an early March visit to central Florida just a few years back, the season starts much earlier there due to the warmer weather. We were down for Spring Training and to visit my Dad.

One of my favorite things growing up was attending the Strawberry Festival in nearby Plant City. It’s a huge event filled with people, music and literally every recipe you could ever imagine being made with strawberries – my favorites being fresh strawberry ice cream and strawberry shortcake (of course).

I’d love to know if you go strawberry picking and some of your favorite recipes to make with the bounty you bring home!
