With the weather warming up and Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, sharing my recipe for a classic Margarita just felt perfect for this week. I love a nice, cold, on the rocks Margarita with a thick rim of salt of course. It is just so refreshing, but not to sweet like some cocktails tend to be. I like mine to be full of lime flavor. And served up in vintage glassware makes it all the sweeter.
Classic Cocktail: The Margarita
- 2 limes
- 1 / 2 oz simple syrup (triple sec is also fine)
- 1.5 oz tequila
- Kosher salt
How to cook Classic Cocktail: The Margarita
- Combine juice from one lime with tequila and simple syrup in a shaker. Shake for about 30 seconds. Using the lime, coat the rim of the glass and dip in salt. Pour mixture over ice and garnish with lime wedges.
- This drink is so easy to make and has so many fun variations you can add to it to freshen the taste. I’d love to know your favorite ingredients to add. Let me know in the comments below.
