Spring Elderflower + Prosecco Cocktail.

The weather is warming up and more + more events are starting to pop up on my weekend calendar. From brunches to bridal luncheons and baby showers to Spring dinners and birthday parties it seems there is always room for a nice classic cocktail. This one is simple but always makes a beautiful presentation.

I love the fizz of a nice glass of Prosecco or something bubbly. The clean and crisp taste makes it very nice to sip on and is a great “starter” to get your event going.

Sometimes for a party, even a classic can use a new and fun twist. I gathered just a few more ingredients (and this gorgeous vintage coupe glass!) to turn a plain ol’ glass of Prosecco into a fancy cocktail for you.

Elderflower, which is the flavor in St. Germain, is just the most beautiful little hint of floral flavor. I think it adds just the right addition of flavor profile and depth to the cocktail to keep in fresh + signature. And the freshness + aroma of the thyme with those delicate little leaves just feels so sweet and elevated to me. Any excuse to use herbs!

Spring Elderberry + Prosecco Cocktail :

  • 1 bottle Prosecco

  • 1 bottle St. Germain

  • A few springs of fresh herbs (one per glass)

Using your favorite serving glasses, pour about 3/4 way full with prosecco. Next, add just a splash of St. Germain to really make the flavors pop. Lastly, garnish each glass with a fresh herb spring. I used thyme and it went really well with the other flavors.

Herb Garden Mint Julep Jars.

It’s that special time of year where entertaining is at its peak, thanks to all this beautiful weather and sunshine. And today I’m celebrating with a fresh, seasonal cocktail recipe.

One of my favorite products, Ball® Mason Jars teamed up with Domino Magazine for a fun event in Nashville recently to showcase the #ManyUsesofMason and although I wasn’t able to make the trip (though I’m planning one soon, stay tuned!)  I could certainly relate to the challenge. I use Ball Jars for everything from packaging for some of my products, to air-tight pantry storage, DIY floral vases and cute entertaining for drinks at any event or party.

Today I’m teaming up with my friends at Ball® to share a seasonal recipe for Herb Garden Mint Julep Jars. It’s my take on the Southern classic and instead of drinking them out of the refined silver julep cups we’ve all grown to love, I’m sharing an effortless update on this entertaining essential.

My herb garden is going absolutely crazy right now and my sprawling mint is nearly covering all the beds in my front garden after just three years of planting them. It makes for a beautiful and fragrant ground cover but beware as it will certainly takeover your garden if you let it.

Because the star of this cocktail is the beautiful mint leaf, serving them in the clear Ball® jars is the perfect way to let them shine. I love the Quilted Jam Jars for serving individual glasses to my guests and the Wide Mouth Quart Sized Jars for storing my Mint Simple Syrup to keep on hand.

A little tip, if you don’t have good crushed ice at your house simply take ice cubes and seal in a bag then hit them gently with a rolling pin to break them up into perfect little pieces for your drink.
