the lovely new Cottage Hill Magazine.

When Cottage Hill Magazine reached out to me about sending some samples for a shoot in their new publication, I could tell they had a little something special going over there.  And, BOY was I right. When you bring together super talented, creative minds the outcome is explosive {which in this case translates to serene}. When I received these images I was so smitten. The way in which they told the story spoke straight to my heart, and here's why.

The apron was styled, for the most part, outside of the kitchen. Which truly is how I loved to use my pieces. I remember when I first started out,  I would wear these waist aprons with a simple jean and ribbed tank and go out on the town to do what I needed to do. Somehow it just worked and I love how it does here as well.

I also love the way they portray the made-from-scratch concept of cooking. With mom in the kitchen cooking and teaching to cook. AND, with boys no less. So sweet and so important for all young ones to learn and embrace these techniques.

behind-the-scenes: spring entertaining.

Some things are far in the making, and this Spring photoshoot is no exception. I've kept these photos under wraps since last July {if you can believe that!} and for good reason. I took some truly special people to capture the beauty of the sunlight and new heirloomed linen Collection. We crammed a lot into this day-long photoshoot, with a prelude of coffee shop planning sessions, style board sketches, and trip to both the farmers market & the wholesale florist. I found a new love of scabiosa in these floral blooms. A swarm of angry hornets and a sting led to a quick location change at the farm, and a 400 lb pig who devoured the vast majority of fresh fruit & raw veggies, and a few of our florals made for a more "simple" look on the final tablescape. But, all in all the final outcome was perfection. Big thanks to the photographic talents of Heidi Geldhauser & the styling {and modeling} by Christina Loucks for making this come to life!

Spring in the South is simply beautiful. It reminds me of brunches, picnics, impromptu backyard barbeques, romantic weddings and light, fragrant cocktails. The simplicity of the heirloomed Collection is meant to capture these special moments.

Stay tuned and tomorrow I'll share my favorite staples for Spring entertaining in the South!

provisions holiday market & a food52 gift guide.

I have long, long been a fan of foodie-fav site food52. Merrill and Amanda have a fabulous knack for keeping things in the realm of simple that I can only accomplish by taking away one or two things, an aesthetic I most adore. I count myself so fortunate to be have my heirloomed tabletop linens collection as part of their new provisions site, and am equally as thrilled to be included in the upcoming provisions Holiday Market this weekend. Were I not 9-months pregnant and due any day, I would surely love to be there for this fabulous series of events and curated shopping in New York City!

There are so many fabulous finds on the provision site, and that will be included in the Holiday Market this weekend, that I could hardly choose my favorites for this little food52 gift guide I compiled - but there are several things here that I've been swooning over for quite some time {read: turkish pans & beeswax birthday candles & heirloom brass scissors} that I had to limit my picks to just a select few!

I'd love to know, what are your favorite finds for holiday gifts on the provisions site?
