A Winter Garden Party.

It's not every day you get to throw a 1st birthday party... I can't believe my sweet little Sawyer Rose is turning ONE next month. It seems like just yesterday I was sharing her newborn photos. But I am excited for the new milestone and to celebrate along with her.  Inspired by her middle name, Rose, we are hosting a little Winter Garden Party for her #1 and I couldn't {*couldn't*} be more excited.

After I got to pinning {because if you follow me, you KNOW I love pinning ...} I fell upon the theme almost instantly. And suddenly, my pinboard was alive and thriving - take a peek:

Winter Garden Party 2

Floral headpieces are kind of a thing these days, especially in the wedding world, and what better to create for this special occasion.  I've been reading up on some DIY crowns, scouring the farm for greenery to use, and will plan to visit the wholesale market for fresh florals. Winter through me for a tiny loop, but I quickly realized there would be no lack of  greens & winter whites or blush florals this time of year. What blooms would you recommend?

Because I can't spill the beans yet on all of the fun festivities we have planned, I can share her invitation! It sets the stage for the theme of the event so perfectly, and is always the guests first impression of what they have to expect. So, I headed over to Minted to pick out the perfect invite. This invitation is perfection - I couldn't have designed it more perfectly if I had created it myself. I absolutely love the color palette,  and you know I love a good kraft design. And, you just have to see the floral design of the backside I chose {here} because I can't even handle it.

I am currently looking for sea foam / mint dress for Sawyer to wear to her little party {so send them my way if you find something!} And, still working on the final details for her cake, hoping to perfect some long-lost decorating skills because you know it must be homemade in my house!

Can't wait to share the full birthday with you and celebrate my sweet Sawyer turning 1!

Special thanks to my friends at Minted who helped to contribute to Sawyer's party invitations and decor through our collaboration! Minted is authentically my go-to for invitations, cards & more because the designs are so fresh and the process is so super fast and easy. This busy mom + business owner appreciates that combo - thanks Minted! x

pretty, pretty pinterest.

It's no secret, I love Pinterest. I'm a visual learner with my own way of organizing my thoughts. I used to rip pages out of magazines and paste them into little notebooks that were tabbed out by category {true story} so Pinterest is my "2.0" version of this. A collection of more fabulous images you'll never find. And, it has been the perfect medium for helping me to define my very specific aesthetic, whether it be style or interiors. My "foodie" board is based solely on mood and has nothing to do with the actual recipes themselves.

What makes Pinterest what it is are the folks I follow. And, I find myself constantly pinning and repinning the same few people day after day. So, I thought I'd share just a few of my favorite folks on Pinterest!

beth kirby / local milk

I love this blog and her mantra "a cast iron skillet & camera" - doesn't get much better. This board is full of rustic office shots and myriads of books {of which I have and can't stop collecting}. A must follow.

hannah queen / honey & jam

I have long been a fan of Hannah and the way her beautiful photography captures the simple things in life and nature. Textures & tones come through beautifully and I can't think of someone with a more lovely, rustic aesthetic than Hannah. This beautiful board is one she calls "feels like home" - certainly a place I'd love to live.

Laura is a great friend and a fabulous pinner. Her style board could be mistaken for mine - probably because that is where most of my pins inadvertently come from. If only my actual wardrobe looked as good as this virtual one. Anyone want to take a stab?

naomi / bakers royale

I love a dark & moody take on food {as is evident on my own "foodie" board} but Naomi takes the cake in this category. This board captures her love of food photography and I simply love her styling with vintage elements.

plum pretty sugar

Though I have long admired this beautiful brand, their pinning is just as pretty. I had a hard time picking just one pin board to feature from their treasure trove of boards. I have my own retail board, and as you'll see it looks so much like the beautiful finds they've pinned here. Perhaps we can share our own retail space down the road? Oh, the possibilities with Pinterest.

katie armour / the neo-traditionalist & matchbook magazine

It's no surprise Katie's pins are equally as lovely as her blog & magazine. While I adore her style & interior pins as well, I just couldn't get over this collection of vintage rides {one of my favorite loves}.

ginny branch

What can I even say about Ginny's style {and styling}? I can honestly say I had to choose this board at random because each and every board she has created is equally as fabulous. Over the years, I have had many, many collections and you can tell that Ginny's love of the same is pure. There is something about a collection that make the similarities outweigh & highlight the differences perfectly.
